This Privacy Policy explains what information Tarc ("Tarc," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and what choices you have. It applies to the Tarc web app at tarc.pro and the Tarc Android app — both are built from the same codebase and behave identically with respect to your data.
This policy describes only what Tarc actually does today. If a feature described here changes, we'll update this page.
You can use Tarc's full lesson experience — including course content, quizzes, streaks, XP, gems, and quests — without creating an account or providing any personal information at all.
In this mode, your progress is stored only on your own device, in your browser's or app's local storage. It is never sent to our servers. If you clear your browser/app data, uninstall the app, or switch devices, this local progress is not recoverable — creating an account is what lets your progress sync and back up to the cloud.
You can create an account by signing in with Google or with your email address (a one-time code or magic link, no password to remember). Whichever way you sign in, we collect:
| Data | Where it comes from | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Provided by Google, or entered by you for email sign-in | Yes, to create an account |
| Username | Chosen by you the first time you sign in | Yes, to complete sign-up |
| Display name | Optional, editable in your profile; defaults to your username | No |
| Bio | Optional free-text field (up to 160 characters) in your profile | No |
| Profile photo | Optional — you choose an image from your device's photo/file picker and upload it | No |
| Learning activity | Lessons you complete, XP earned, streaks, quests, and achievements | Automatic, to track your progress |
We do not ask for or store a password of our own — Google sign-in and email sign-in are both handled by our authentication provider, and we never see your Google password or receive one at all for email sign-in.
We do not use your information for advertising. Tarc does not show ads and does not contain any advertising or ad-tracking software.
Tarc has a global leaderboard and public profile pages. If your profile is public, other users may be able to see your username, display name, profile photo, current streak, and total XP.
Your profile screen has a "Public profile" toggle that controls whether your profile page is visible and discoverable to other users. This toggle is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in your profile settings.
Tarc uses Supabase as its backend — for account authentication, storing your profile and progress data, and hosting uploaded profile photos. Supabase processes this data on our behalf, under our direction; it does not use your data for its own independent purposes.
If you choose "Sign in with Google," Google acts as your identity provider — this is the standard "Sign in with Google" flow you may already be familiar with from other apps. We receive your email address and basic profile information from Google at sign-in; we don't receive your Google password.
We use Google Analytics to understand overall usage of Tarc — things like which pages/screens are visited and general engagement (e.g. page views, scrolling). Google Analytics assigns your device a randomly-generated identifier that is not connected to your Tarc account, name, or email address. It also receives standard technical information your browser or device sends with any web request — general device/browser type, language setting, and an approximate (city/region-level, not GPS-precise) location derived from your IP address. We have not configured Google Analytics with any custom tracking beyond its default page-view/engagement measurement — we don't send it your name, email, username, or anything else that identifies you personally. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google itself handles this data.
We do not share your data with any advertising network or data broker, and Tarc does not show ads.
All data sent between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We do not transmit or store any of your data over an unencrypted connection.
We retain your account and progress information for as long as your account exists, so that your learning history, streaks, and achievements remain available to you. If you'd like your account and data deleted, see Section 9 below.
You can stop using Tarc at any time by signing out, which returns your device to Guest Mode — your account and cloud data remain safely stored, unaffected by signing out.
To permanently delete your account and all associated data (profile, progress, achievements, and uploaded photo), open Profile → Delete Account in the app and confirm. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
If you're unable to use the in-app option, you can instead email us at tohirbek008@icloud.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Delete my account," and we'll process the request manually.
Tarc is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will take appropriate action.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
