Yes. Tarc is free to use, including all course content, quizzes, streaks, XP, and gems. The in-app shop ("Tarc Souq") lets you spend gems — a virtual currency you earn by completing lessons and quests — on cosmetics and boosts. There is no real-money purchase anywhere in the app.
Tarc currently offers Arabic (Starter through B2) and Latvian (beginner through intermediate). The app interface itself is available in English, Uzbek, Russian, and Turkish.
Turkish, Russian, English, German, and French are on the roadmap for future courses, though none are built yet. Each has a reference page under Learn covering the language itself, with a way to get notified when a course ships.
No. You can use Tarc's full lesson experience without creating an account. In this guest mode, your progress is stored only on your device. Creating a free account (via Google or email) lets your progress sync and back up across devices.
You earn XP for completing lessons and quizzes correctly. Completing at least one lesson per day keeps your streak alive. Gems are earned alongside XP and can be spent in the in-app shop on cosmetic items and temporary XP boosts.
Spaced repetition is a review method that resurfaces material you've learned at increasing intervals, timed just before you're likely to forget it — more efficient than repeatedly reviewing everything on a fixed schedule. Tarc's lesson engine uses spaced-repetition review to schedule practice of previously learned material.
Yes. Tarc is available as an Android app, built from the same codebase as the web app, so your account and progress behave identically on both.
In guest mode, none of your data leaves your device. With an account, Tarc collects your email, username, and learning activity (lessons completed, XP, streaks) to sync your progress; profile photo and bio are optional. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Open Profile → Delete Account in the app and confirm — this is immediate and permanent. If you can't access the app, see the contact page.
