Tarc for Russian — What to Expect

Tarc's core method — short daily lessons, spaced-repetition review, streaks, and gamified progress — is built to be language-agnostic, with Russian planned as a future addition alongside the existing Arabic and Latvian courses.

Why the method should transfer well to Russian

Nothing about daily lesson pacing or spaced repetition is specific to any one language; what changes per course is the content. For Russian, that content would center on Cyrillic literacy, the case system, and verb aspect as core early material.

Same app, no separate install

Whenever the Russian course ships, it's expected to run the same way the existing courses do — directly in the browser at tarc.pro, with an Android app available too.

Russian is planned for Tarc but isn't built yet, so there's no lesson to start today. Everything else on this page is accurate, standalone information about Russian. Reach out to be notified at launch.

Frequently asked questions

Will Russian use a different Tarc app or method than Arabic and Latvian?

No — the plan is the same underlying app and method, just with Russian-specific course content.

Will I need to install anything new for a Russian course?

No — it's expected to run in the same browser-based app (and Android app) already used for Arabic and Latvian.

Will the Russian course be free like the others?

No specific pricing has been announced, but Tarc's existing courses are free with only optional cosmetic in-app purchases.

How do I get notified about the Russian course specifically?

Contact Tarc directly and mention Russian — there's no automated waitlist system yet.
